Clothing that helps people take the next step.
The Confident Closet is a free clothing support initiative designed to help people rebuild confidence following illness, injury or significant life change. By providing quality clothing for interviews, work, study and movement-based recovery activities, we help remove practical barriers and support people to reconnect with life and meaningful work.

Recovery is broader than returning to work
Following illness, injury or significant life changes, many people can find themselves needing to rebuild confidence and reconnect with important parts of life and identity. For many, this also means needing appropriate clothing to support the next step in their recovery journey, whether returning to work, commencing study, participating in movement-based recovery activities or re-engaging with their community.
For some, this may involve preparing to return to work after an extended absence or transitioning into a different type of role or industry for the first time. Others may experience changes in body shape, self-esteem or confidence following illness, injury or treatment, and feel uncertain about re-engaging with work, community or important life events after major life disruption or trauma.

Recovery and re-engagement can involve important moments such as:
Clothing to support movement and recovery
For some people, recovery also involves rebuilding confidence through movement, exercise and physical activity. Where available, The Confident Closet may also assist with practical clothing to support walking, gym programs, rehabilitation activities or other forms of movement recommended as part of recovery.
